National Centre

The National Centre of the Taoist Tai Chi Society of New Zealand inc. is located in Hyland Crescent, Rotorua. The building was purchased in 1992 and the grand opening and the opening of the Fung Loy Kok shrine was held in November 1993.

Originally a warehouse, the building has been substantially modified to provide a practice space capable of accommodating Local, National and International workshops. The Rotorua Branch of the Society meets at the National Centre.

In recent years, a Chinese kitchen has been added and local members are able to cater for banquets which are an important part of the Society's culture.

The Fung Loy Kok Shrine forms an important focal point within the National Centre and chanting is practised on a regular basis.
